Hello from Adonia!

24 May 2011

Hello again everyone.

Well Adonia is now headed towards Lisbon, where we'll arrive tomorrow morning.

The last two days have been busy, getting to chat to our passengers to see how they are enjoying Adonia, and seeing how the ship is working. So far so good!

We had some windy conditions at first, but now they have calmed and today has been sunny and warm, with passengers out on deck sunbathing.

The Commodore's parties last evening were fun, with everyone dressed up and looking lovely - I get to go to both parties (!), so met with many passengers who I know from our other ships, as well as some newcomers to P&O Cruises.

Passengers seem to be loving the ship - I have just had a chat with Jill and Paul Machell, who think we have a definite success on our hands with this one!

I ate up in Ocean Grill on our first evening which was spectacular - great food and wonderful attentive service from the young ladies up there ('she would say that, wouldn't she', I can hear you say.....but its true!). You'll need to try it for yourselves. I had the deep fried soft shell blue crab starter which was delicious, followed by the coq au vin, and then an apple tart tatin for dessert which was to die for.

Last evening at the Gala Dinner I sat on a table with several of our regular cruisers, which was great fun. We discussed everything under the sun, and more - putting the world to rights... And I then I went in to see the first performance of 88 Notes from our new Headliners Theatre Company, which was super - hits we all recognised sung by our company of five with some beatiful arrangements.  I was only going to stay for 20 minutes as I'm still really tired from our naming activities, but I ended up staying right to the end....with my toes tapping all the way through!

I hope you enjoy these photos from the first couple of days of the cruise.

Hard at work!

So now off to change for dinner number three, this time at a different table. Its always a pleasure to dine with our passengers - I do meet some very interesting people! But first, I think, a drink in the Crow's Nest, to watch as the sun starts to go down into the azure blue sea....ahhh, this beats sitting at my desk in Southampton!
