One of the side streets.
Welcome back!
Boating ports are always a great opportunity to admire your mighty ship from many different angles.

The water temperature was comfortable, visibility clear and we were lucky to have a superb guide, who dived for starfish and sea slugs to decorate our bodies – some of us more enthusiastic about this aspect than others!

Zihuatanejo was designated an attractive and delightful port of call by our passengers and we look forward to calling here again. It is a real Mexican experience!

Thanks for that Cherry and I enjoyed your photographs.
Good Day Everyone,
This old Mexican fishing village is located in the north Western part of the state Guerrero, 150 miles from the coast of Acapulco. Like any other Mexican resort Zihuatanejo offers a contrast of old and new with a world resort of Izapta, which is just four miles along the coast. Petatlan is another city close by offering a mix of tradition and culture and home to a unique gold market.
I popped ashore in the afternoon for a quick walk around and take some photographs. My thanks to Cherry and Sophie from our Shore Excursions Team for their contribution to this posting.
Here is Cherry's report on her day ashore -
A high tide at Isla Ixtapa left hardly any beach between the sun loungers and the sea. Everyone was enjoying the Mexican flavour - either spicy food in Mexican Hacienda or a chilled bucket of beer! For those of us who chose to snorkel, conditions could be described as fantastic.

Since leave Zihuatanejo (pronunced - zhee'whoan'tan'eho) the sea has been kind to us. We are currently on our second sea day on our passage to San Francisco. Entering the United States of America, Ships are subject to numerous Inspections including US Coast Guard and US Port Health. Arcadia is all 'spic and span' and ready for whatever lies ahead. There is much excitement on board with the thought of California ahead, sailing under the Golden Gate Bridge and then berthing at one of the old Piers near to Fisherman's Wharf. Just over 400 passengers are changing over at San Francisco and this will be our largest number on this Round World Cruise. If I get any free time I will jump in a taxi to Union Square. I have enjoyed two holidays in San Francisco in the past and I have never been to all the sights that I would like to see - there is so much to do and enjoy in the City area. I am sure there will be many tales to tell after our call!
Sharon Taylor - how lovely to hear from you! I remember living next door to you on the old Sea Princess when we were in a big storm and your porthole came it! What a night! It was always a joy to sail with you as you always saw the positive side of life.
A message for Davina and Andy - David and Jill are behaving themselves on board!!!
Bye for now,
James.
