Hello everyone
She looked somewhat unusual as she came towards her berth at Circular Quay, and you can see why! Her moustache is to show her support for the charity Movember, which helps men with prostate problems or depression.
Getting into the spirit of things with Ann Sherry, CEO of Carnival Australia, and Max 'Tangles' Walker.
The Australian Cricket Club also support the charity, and we held a reunion get-together on board for 10 members of the Australian cricket team that sailed to Britain in March 1961 on Himalaya, another P&O ship. Historically, this was the last time that the team travelled over to Britain on a ship - after that they did at least part of the journey by air. Interestingly the Australian team won the Ashes that year, despite it being held on British soil! Could Oriana have brought them a good omen? And does having 10 of the team on board again this year mean that the forthcoming Ashes are at risk again?!
Oriana looks resplendent at her Sydney berth.
Have now boarded and I'm in my cabin feeling just a little jet lagged.....time for a nap...will be back to you from Oriana later in the week....
Kind regards
Carol

G'day Carol
Nice that you are down under with us, the Oriana, looks quite strange with a big Mo, painted on her.
I do hope that the trip up the coast is an enjoyable one for all on board her. Just looked at the webcam over cast at the moment hope the day gets better.
Regards to all on Oriana.

Hi Carol,
So good to see an English P&O ship at Circular Quay at this time of year. Can we have Oriana down here in our waters all the time? So many Australians have such great memories of old Oriana, let's look back at the past for our future... Who else would like to see Oriana cruise permanently out of Australian waters? (no offence to the many Brits that also love her)..
Safe travels Carol..
