On Wednesday 25 August OCEANA enjoyed a peaceful day alongside in Olden. Welcome!
Hello!
Olden is one of my favourite ports of call - can't tell you why as they are all so scenic in Norway - there is a mystical attraction about the place and it gives you that great feeling of well-being!
Scenic splendour sets the tone in this enchanting port of call - idyllically set at the top of the innermost arm of Nordfjord, an almost 65 mile long inlet, cut deep into the coastline.

Tour buses lined up and ready to go..............................................

Lots of
Shore Excursions to choose from. Glacier Safari and Glacier Trekking are very popular. You can go hiking to Hauren Viewpoint. Visit beautiful Stryn or go on a Lake Cruise on Oldevatnet. Lots of passengers go to see Briksdal Glacier.

The mist sits in air like cotton wool............

Not even an air to raise the P&O Cruises house flag.

See the reflection in the water.............

The lines men who sort out the ship's ropes for arrival and departure - the 'King of Olden' is on the pontoon, when he was 60 he learned to fly aeroplanes!

Picture postcard................

Lots of boat houses everywhere..............

Briksdal Glacier is one the Glacier Arms found in the surroundings of Olden.

I do hope you are enjoying these beautiful views of Norway.
Bye for now,
James.
Success is generally due to holding on, and failure to letting go.

James!
Yes we do indeed enjoy the shots of Norway! It all looks so fresh and clean (a bit like yourself sir) and I bet it smells good too!!
'James' is off at the weekend for a couple of weeks but he is packing for warmer weather so I guess you wont see him hurtling down a glacier on ski's - well lets hope not!
Me? Well I might go to Weston Super Mare for a couple of nights!!
I'd rather be cruising - ANYTIME!!
'M' xx
Oh what a fab blog James. Brought back many happy memories especially of Olden, when there was a full brass band of youngsters marching along the pier, they were such good musicians.
Cheers
Mary K.
The yacht in the pic is I think one belonging to Microsoft manager see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skat_(yacht)
Very nice - but not as good as a P and O ship ;-)

Tony
We saw that yacht in St Petersburg in July! Jay
Hi James
The last two blog entries are beautiful, but i bet they are not so pleasant in winter when it is minus 30 or 40. The only thing about winter is that it will be quiet without all the tourists.
Well we are in spring now but there is still a nip in the air, but it wont be too long and we will be complaining about the heat in Perth.
looking forward to more updates to come.
Regards to all on Oceana

Dear John and Caorl,
Hope you are both well - I wonder where you have been since we last met? Will you be on Aurora for the RWC?
All good wishes,
James.

You like to be in the warmer climate! Keep James busy and get him on another cruise.....!
James.
Mary K,
You have a good ear for music. It is time you stopped all your overland tours and get back on a P&O Cruises Ship for a catch up!
Best wishes to you and Tom....
James.
Hi Tony,
I think you are correct!
James.
Hi Jay,
You are so travelled. Always good to hear from you,
Regards
James.
Hi Geoff,
Warm climates are always my preference - however if I have to be in the cold a big roaring fire and a warm Bushmills is always a pleasure.....
Perth is great at anytime of the year,
Regards
James.
