Oceana alongside Ocean Terminal in her home port of Southampton
Oxford Street in the old part of Southampton - lots of cafes. bars and restaurants............
A quick walk thorough the park and you are on the high street...............
Take me away P&O Cruises........................
Welcome to our world................many people love the convenience of embarking their P&O Cruises Ship at Southampton and from here the world is your oyster..............dare to dream!
Voting closes this Thursday 30 September 2010 for the British Travel Awards - so if you would like to vote for P&O Cruises then you can do so by visiting the following website - I would love it if my blog readers would vote for P&O Cruises.............no apologies for the blatant plug!
I had hoped to get a blog out sooner however this cruise has been so busy with one thing and another - the weather is still with us and we have super passengers on board all enjoying themselves. We swapped the itinerary around this cruise to call at Cadiz first and then Gibraltar for our last port of call. This is because there is a general strike planned for Spain on 29 September 2010. That's the beauty of a Cruise Ship - you can move it at a moments notice!
In Cadiz I managed to get a tour of the Cathedral and some great photos to post, and from Livorno I visited Florence - I had not been there for a couple of years and I had forgotten just how spectacular it is. So lots more to look forward to on the blog. I am not sure where you all got your dates from however I am due to go on leave from Oceana on 25 October 2010. Thanks again for all your messages.....please keep them coming and as for Mary K - I bet you are having a great time in Europe!
Back soon,
James.
Never forsake old friends for new......

Hi James,
Just voted for P & O.Let's hope we can get a good result.I looked at the Portinus mag and saw that you wern't off until the middle of October, someone got the dates wrong obviously.!!!Ocean terminal is just fantastic, we can get on the ship so quickly and enjoy our champagne!!!
Freddile Lloyd stayed with us last night and had a fantastic evening.Gosh he's full of fascinating facts.
We went to a food festival on Saturday, and met a lady who was joining Oceana this week for their first ever cruise, we told her about you!!! and I'm sure she'll make herself known to you if you bump into each other. I told her to tell you that we're still waiting for you to visit this lovely part of Wales.
Hope the weather stays good for you.

Hi James
Just got my blog fix again ha ha... great reading as always, and will certainly vote for P&O Cruises. Yes we are having a great time, arrived in Germany today, tomorrow will be driving down the Mosel stopping off at all the different villages to taste the wine and pick a bit dozens bottles or two. Great having the little netbook to pick up e.mails and check up on your blog as we roam from place to place. Anyway look forward to checking on the next blog, hope all your skies are still blue and its smooth sailing wherever you go. Will you be Monarching it when you go on leave or will it be too late???
Cheers
Mary K.
Hi James,
Do have any information about who the captain will be on Aurora 2011 World Cruise.
Hi James,
Glad to hear you have had another fantastic Mediterranean cruise on Oceana. I just read Dai's comment about joining you tomorrow and it makes me realise that in 2 weeks time I can say the same. I have made enquiries with the CD team regarding an onboard get together for our cruise and am waiting to hear back - hopefully will do so soon!!
I have never been to Florence so it will be good to see your photos from the most recent visit.
Have another great cruise and looking forward to more blogging from Oceana.
Until the 16th,
Fiona
