Hello once again,

After two very busy days of touring in Italy our passengers were glad to have a day at their leisure in MC. We must not forget also that one of the world's greatest and most challenging motor racing events , the Monaco Grand Prix is held here.
Whatever you are up to this week I hope all is going well for you - it certainly is for us.

Best wishes,
James.
Life is a precious gift - unwrap with care.
Last Sunday we were in Monte- Carlo - and what better place for an afternoon stroll?
Neil takes us ashore - one thing I like about Oceana's boats in that there is seating on the open top deck which is good for all round viewing. Cox'n Neil is driving.
Oceana was at anchor and the sea condition were good for our boating operation. As you will see from my pictures the sun continued to shine. I cannot remember the last time I was on a cruise with such good weather as this one.
Monte- Carlo is famous throughout the world. With its palaces, casinos, luxurious villas, designer shops and flowered terraces, it has so much to offer the first time visitor. For those who have been to MC before then you can visit the neighbouring towns of Nice, Menton, Eze or St Paul de Vence. For me walking the Principality is simply a pleasure.

Monaco is one of Europe's smallest independent states where the rich are free to flaunt their wealth and where one of the 'must haves' is a yacht berthed in La Condamine Harbour. The upper part of Monaco stands 200 feet above the shore, and drops perpendicularly to the waves below on almost all sides. I love to watch the goings on at the Prince's Palace and the Cathedral where Price Rainier married Grace Kelly and where they are both buried.

Another good way to pass a few hours is to visit the Casino, the Hotel de Paris and the Cafe de Paris - don't forget your wallet! The Casino is surrounded with the most beautiful gardens. This really is the epitome of glitz and glamour.

Hi James
Beautifully described as always, my wife went there in 2008 when she went on a cruise with one of her friends, they enjoyed it immensely.
Anyway hope that you have continued to enjoy great weather.

Another great peace of penmanship James, you take your readers on the trips with you as you describe it so well. Love the sunset shot of Oceana too.
I am sure the good weather will continue for the rest of the cruise, so get out there and explore so we can hear all about it in the next blog.
Cheers
Mary K.
Hi James
Your photos of Monte Carlo and Monaco bought back such happy memories of our trips there back in the 80's when we used to travel through Europe on the trains (hubby worked for the railways then!) We now prefer the more sedate travel on one of the P&O fleet, cant wait to our cruise at the end of August on a favourite ship 'ORIANA'. Mind you as long as I am onboard I dont mind which one or where its going!!

Hello James,
Beautiful pictures - its very hot in Italy so I am told so I understand the comments about the beautiful weather - I am only sorry I cannot be anywhere other than at home this summer!
Me thinks there will be a big celebration when I am finally given the 'go ahead' to go back on 'operations' again....
perhaps some 'undercover' work on a P & O ship????
Do you ever have 'mystery customers' James?? I could do that..........
Have a great trip, Love from Louise & 'James' xxx

Hello George,
Thank you for your message - it is good to know that I have young blog readers - tell your firends at school to check out this blog.
Dream big dreams and one day they will come true - they did for me.
Wishing you a happy cruise to Norway.
James.
Hi Ros,
Oriana is a classic - you will have a ball....
James.
Hi James,
Good to have you back and reports to your normal high standard.
Enjoyed two fabulous cruises on Arcadia with you as EP, what a credit that ship was to you and the Commodore and all her fantastic crew.
Sorry to read we will not be able to talk to you when we cruise to Alaska on her 2011 cruise, but Arcadia's loss will be Aurora's gain.
Are there plans for the Commodore to return to Arcadia?
Best regards, Mike & Jean.
