OCEANA arrives home - Southampton after a stunning Cruise with perfect weather.Good Day Everyone,
Since leaving Monte Carlo, we have been to Barcelona and Cadiz. ARCADIA was also in port with OCEANA at Cadiz and it was good to catch up with some friends for a good chat.
Great to meet up with Kathy Jones - Executive Purser on Arcadia. Kathy and I have sailed the world together over the past 20 years.
Yesterday we were in Southampton for our turnaround and what a busy port Southampton is for Cruise Ships. Gone are the days when it was a novelty to have two ships in port - today there were 4! There was plenty for our passengers to enjoy - as we prepared to set sail Grand Princess and VENTURA sailed past and you can imagine the horn blowing, shouting and waving that went on! What a memorable start to our cruise.
Turnaround day is always a busy day for us on board, and a day of fond farewells and 'welcome on board'! I always get a buzz when the ship lets go her ropes and we are on our way on another voyage - wondering what will the weather be like? What will the passengers be like? I wonder who I will bump into from the past and who I will meet?!! What are the new crew like? And so it goes on but that is the joy of the job.
Carol mentioned that she had received a few questions regarding spa passes while she was looking after the blog, and that she had promised to come back to you on this. She has asked me to let you know that "we have now made sure that confirmed prices are available for Azura, Ventura and Arcadia thermal suites in advance of your cruise. We have 'package' prices for one day or several days, which represent excellent value for money. Within the package price and duration purchased you can go in and out of the thermal suite as many times as you like. Thank you for your patience while I looked into the questions raised".
I am glad to have my desk clear......and until the next time,
Bon Voyage!
James.
Don't expect a great day; make one.

Hi James,
Glad your turnaround went well, and that your desk is clear for the time being at least .We're looking forward to sailing on Oriana on Friday, when it will be great to meet up with the Ramsay's and Gore's once again.I'm sure a few bottles of Champagne will pop over the 16 nights!!!Hope the sun shines on your cruise and that you'll have a fantastic time taking great photos as usual.
Hope to catch up with you again soon.
Norma & Peris.
Hi James, I am new to the blog but great to see the pictures on turn around day. Just got back from a week on the Azura, a bit of a wet week, it rained every day but a good time had by all despite the weather. Keep up the good work on the blog, I will certainly be tuning in to catch up on all the ships adventures.
Hi James
Brilliant as usual, wonderful to see other great cruise ships passing in the day.
Well we are having Federal Election here on the 21st of August, so nothing but election talk most of the time on the TV, cant wait for it to be over it becomes Boring to listen to.
Regards to all on Oceana

Best wishes,

Hi James, Welcome back.
Justback on Friday after a great time on Oriana in the Baltics. Weather spectacular! What a busy cruise it was too. We were in Stockholm with Disney Magic (she played "When you wish upon a star" on her ship's whistle when she left port. Raised a smile on Oriana) also Celebrity Eclipse in Helsinki and Tallin (Isn't she big?) and we saw the old Victoria now called Mona Lisa in Tallin too. Look forward to more of your blogs and pics Jay

We are in the pub and got on line so thought Id check your blog. Love your description of leaving Southampton with all the horn blowing, waving etc etc, its one of the great moments that you can only experience on a cruise holiday, quite magic. Once again you can describe it so well. Look forward to your next blog.
Cheers
Mary
Hi Jay,
I did read that was a great cruise for ORIANA - seems like everyone had a super time. The Baltic is lovely at this time of year. It is always good on a cruise for people watching and ship waatching!
Best wishes
James.
