I'm coming on Azura for my first ever cruise and am so excited!
This is something I have always wanted to do and can't believe I am finally managing to do it.
I keep reading your blogs and looking at the ship's webcam and getting more excited by the minute.
My 16 year old daughter and I love sports and in particular table tennis, are you able to tell me any more about the sports facilities on board Azura?

Dear Kash,
You have made an excellent choice for your first cruise - We have Table Tennis, Deck Quoits, Shuffleboard, Interactive Video Games which we play on SeaScreen up on the open deck plus a great selection of other activities too!
Look forward to meeting you.

Hi Neil - Christmas and New Year seem along way off to me but I am not giving up hope of a summer cruise just yet (although hubby says we can afford it!!) Mind you we have got Artemis farewell cruise booked next April and yesterday we booked our Christmas and New Year on Aurora for 2011 !! Am I being just a little bit greedy ?
Enjoy the next few days on the Maiden cruise.
Ros

Dear Ros,
It seems as though you are never at home! Would it not be easier to move in with us!!

Hi Neil
What a privilege to be able to blog you. We have been such keen supporters of you and Karen down the years, latterly on Ventura in Sept 2008 when our two daughters; Rachael and Ruth and grand daughter Halle met you outside the Athena theatre next to Ramblas and so pleased that you have been chosen for Azura. We will hopefully see you on Azura on Sept. 28th for Venice or could it be Bennie. It would be lovely to meet her too as we became acquainted in Sept. 2009 on Ventura. The anticipation of a cruise just fills us with so much hope, we are on Ventura for a week in June 2010 and then Azura in Sept, hope to see some familar faces. Thank you all so much for making our cruises, our holidays, our time with you all so worth while. P&O, please take note of all these valuable servants of yours.
Steve, Mags and the Ackers family

Dear Steve Mags and Family,
I remember meeting you all at the Arena doors - as you are aware this is a great place to have a chat before and after a show. Look forward to seeing you all again. Azura has already many passengers wishing to re-book later in the year. Thanks for the message and see you all soon!!!

Hi Neil

Have enjoyed catching up with the blog.

Missed the gold portunus gold booking day because for some reason I didn't get a brochure or portunus magazine. I now have to wait for the booking days for a specific month! On Tuesday we managed to get booked on Aurora's caribbean cruise in April next year. I will be turning 50 in late March and wanted to do a cruise for my actual birthday. But when we sat down and worked out the logistics of the Easter caribbean, we would probably need to use just as many holiday days off work on a two week cruise than we do on this Easter cruise which also goes into the first May bank holiday. So holiday No: 1 booked and we are awaiting the outcome of the Aurora Xmas cruise 2011.

Anyway, back to Azura. Your first cruise is now done and over and it looks like the maiden cruise was a great success. What was the feedback like from the "regular" P & O cruisers? Azura is being sold to those cruisers that love Aurora and Oriana. And from my brief visit she certainly is aimed more at them than Ventura. Both my cruises that I'm booking for next year are on Aurora. I would love to do a short cruise on Azura next year too if we can fit it in. If not it will definitely be on my wish list for 2012.

Well all I've got to look forward to today is a visit to the gym and cleaning ;-( Oh and try and do some grass mowing as the weather this weekend is supposed to be wet, windy and colder than it has been! Looks like the heating may kick in again ;-(

So not much to look forward to here.

Happy sailing

Elaine (aurorabore)

Hi Neil - Had an hour long conversation with Pat & Jackie Dacey last night and they said what a fabulous time they had had onboard, ports were spectacular and every aspect of the ship excellent, cant get better than that can it? so sounds all good to me. I cant wait to come on her, when yet I dont know but hopefully very soon.

Neil: glad everything is going well on Azura.

One thing - i like to check the various ship's webcams every day. This last few days Azura's has been very glare-y and obscured, it's hard to see anything on it at all. Is there something wrong? Has it been knocked ut of kilter & perhaps point at the sky??

We are joining Azura on the 26th May Baltic Cruise. This will be our first cruise with P&O but we are travelling with friends who have cruised with P&O before. We are looking forward to seeing if their reccomendation lives up to all they have said.
