Good Morning from Aqaba in Jordan. Happy Easter Everyone.
Good Day All,
Arcadia was alongside at 0715 hours today after five glorious sea days crossing from Dubai. It was like a mill pond all the way. By 0800 hours over 1,000 passengers were on their coaches and ready for the off to visit Petra.
Aqaba is Jordon's only seaport, located on the southernmost top of Jordon on the Red Sea. Aqaba is a blend of sun, sea and sand and mountains that provides the gateway to the City of Petra and is one of the most spectacular attractions to be seen on a Middle East cruise, abandoned and forgotten for centuries.
Aqaba is a small fishing village but is now fast becoming a tourist resort, principally because of its magnificent sandy beaches and fabulous underwater world of coral reefs. The deep water port, built at the head of the Gulf of Aqaba at the instigation of King Hussein, and receives ships of all nations, bringing in vital imports and taking out Jordon's chief export, phosphates.
How appropriate that on Easter Sunday we are alongside in Aqaba in Jordan, and looking across the stern of Arcadia you can see Eilat and the land of Israel - truly Biblical territory.
Arcadia in position and ready to disembark over 1,000 passengers who are on an exciting aspirational shore excursion to the 'red-rose city half as old as time' Perta.
Stephan - Accommodation Supervisor, Floyd - Restaurant Manager, James & Dolphy - Restaurant Manager. There was a dawn service at 0600 hours.
Have a great day wherever you may be! There will be more great pictures to follow from the Tour to Petra so stay tuned!
Bye for now,
James.
Dance then wherever you may be - for I am the Lord of the Dance said he.

Hi James
Wonderful photo's once again, another place on the to do list,i think i may have to win lotto to see most of them,or alternately get my good wife to work 7 days a week so we can save up.(lol)
Anyway enjoy the run home on my computer the last port shown was Dubai on the 29th of March.
The weather here has been reasonable for this time of year, only a bit of rain but otherwise high 20s to low 30s.

Happy Easter Monday to you James
Enjoyed reading about Aqaba.
What is the time difference now between the UK and Arcadia?
Not long before you are back here in the UK now and off on leave I presume. What will we do without the blog??
Still hope you carry on when you come back from leave.
Have had a busy Easter here with the outlaws. They've just left so catching up on all my surfing (Lol).
Take care
