Our daytime programme of cruise entertainment again attracted many passengers to the various events - including a wonderful cookery demonstration by celebrity chef Atul Kochhar, hosted by wine expert Olly Smith and myself. One of my Entertainment Officers Jemma Legg is hosting the Azura choir and she had over 65 passengers wishing to participate. And this evening we have a superb cabaret in the theatre by the name of Kev Orkian - some of you may remember him from previous cruises.
The rehearsals for the 'Headliners Theatre Company' are going very well and tomorrow evening is their first show which is 'Destination Dance' - a whistle-stop tour of dance from around the world, everything from an African dance routine to River Dance. A great show with a choice of three performance times during the evening to choose from, this enables our passengers to see a show either before or after dinner and then also gives them an opportunity to see another cabaret.
The Headliners theatre company we have here on Azura are all immensely accomplished, not only good singers but great dancers too. The cast are 14-strong and have worked incredibly hard over the last few months, starting with a very tough audition in London and then through their intensive rehearsals. They have a fantastic array of costumes and because of this we have to have 4 wardrobe ladies to look after the entire cast! Here’s some of the shows that will be performed during this cruise:
Thank you all for your kind comments and I look forward to keeping you posted.

Well done for taking on the blog Neil. You'll find it a doddle - after all, not much else to do on a Maiden Voyage of a vast new ship ;-)
Hope you all have a wonderful Maiden and first season and hope to bump into you again on one of P&O's smaller ships in the future.
Andrew & Tony, Brighton.
Hi Neil - Heard from friends yesterday who are on Azura that ship couldnt get into Malaga and were going to Palma today, why was that ? Sounds as if they are having a great time though.

My husband Kevin and I are following your progress with great interest. We will be on board 28th Sept. It will be our first cruise together. We are so excited. You seem to be having so much fun. Can't wait to come and join you.
Great to see you are doing a blog. I had the pleasure of meeting you at your private party on Arcadia in 2006 with James Cusick. When you moved to Ventura we booked a cruise in the hope of seeing you again but then you jumped ship to go shoreside to plan Azura. We have booked Azura on 29th October in the hope you will be on board LOL. I recently met James on Arcadia and he isn't avoiding me!!!!!
