Happy New year!

Happy New Year to one and all!!

Our New Year Celebrations ran without a hitch, the weather was perfect for one of the biggest on deck parties ever for Arcadia. To add to the excitement of the evening we enjoyed a sail past with our sister ship Ventura. Just after midnight, two grand 'Ladies of the Sea' lit up in full splendour, the hooting of ship's horns, the music, the laughter and the sheer noise of it all - welcoming the New Year 2010.

For me and my team it is a relief to see all the main celebrations over, as there is such hype and expectations from our passengers and ship's company. Thankfully we delivered and the weather was with us! I will post some photographs soon. Ventura was berthed beside us in Barbados today, it is a turnround port for her. I went over to visit Patrick Harrison my counterpart on board. We had a most enjoyable morning catching up and taking a walk around the Ventura.

Wishing you health, wealth and happiness in 2010.

James

An' during a' the years to come,

Well were on our way back :-(

What a great day yesterday. I met up with BIL, SIL and niece who have spent Xmas on Ventura (our first christmas for many years where we have not been together - and if I'm honest - I've missed them)!

Anyway, didn't make it to dinner last night. When we left Barbados it was quite rocky and I was not prepared! So was in bed by 8.30pm! Still never mind - missing a meal won't hurt ;-o) Dresses are getting a bit tight anyway (lol)!!

Have to agree with James - NYE we all had a ball. My feet were killing me! I did miss the in laws and more especially my son - who doesn't appear to be missing us as he doesn't reply to my texts or to my facebook messages. But I think that lads for you ;-)

Well back to my holiday. Looking forward to following James and the good ship Arcadia around the world on my return. Back to my breakfast blogs James!

Bye for now

Obviously a lovely New Year for you on Arcadia, and I look forward to seeing the pictures. Sorry to hear the sea got lumpy, that's not allowed!!

Happy New Year to you, James, and all on Arcadia.

Now you're on your way home and thoughts must be turning to the World Cruise.

My cases are packed ready to be taken to Southampton on Thurday - weather permitting. We still have a lot of snow here and our road is treacherous.

I wish you a smooth crossing and warm weather as long as possible.

Gill
