Hello once again! Our Managing Director, Carol Marlow, joined us yesterday in Palermo, Sicily for a three day visit; she disembarks in Palma, Majorca tomorrow. Carol has been visiting all of our ships over the past few months; she not only likes to meet as many passengers as she can but also the ships companies.
Carol joined P&O Princess Cruises, (now Carnival UK) in 1997 and since then, she has had a number of senior positions within the company. She was the Managing Director of the Swan Hellenic Brand, in charge of Sales and Marketing at P&O Cruises, UK Director of Princess Cruises, Director for the Cunard Line in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and in November 2005, she became President and Managing Director of Cunard. She became Managing Director of P&O Cruises in July this year, Britain’s Largest Cruise Line.
Carol became Chairman of the Cruise sector of the Passenger Shipping Association in 2002 and from July 2006 to July 2008 she was Chair of the Passenger Shipping Association in total, Cruise and Ferry. Having completed the usual period of office, Carol is now Vice Chairman.
As soon as Carol joined us yesterday afternoon in Palermo, Carol and I did a chat show that was recorded and then broadcast on to the passenger cabin TV System. I asked her not only about her long and varied career in the travel industry but also what she enjoys in her leisure time.
Carol has asked to be seated with different passengers at meal times whilst she is on board and spends as much time as she can attending all the different events, activities and entertainment around the ship. By doing this she meets as many of our passengers as she possibly can.
At 11.00am this morning, Carol will be giving a talk in the Theatre Royal for our passengers, sharing the latest news about our new P&O Cruises Ship Azura, which will join the fleet next April.
Our passenger service program on board our fleet of ships is called CRUISE, and Carol will also be hosting a reception for all the recent CRUISE Outstanding Performers during her visit.
Our passengers and the ship’s company are very excited to have Carol travel with us and to have this opportunity to meet the Managing Director of this excellent company.
Carol Marlow and myself taken on 9th November in the Chaplin’s Cinema prior to out TV Chat Show.

Tonight Carol will get a real taste of the entertainment on offer this cruise. We have another production show from the Headliners Theatre Company, ‘Stop in the Name of Love’, (this is our tribute to Motown Music), a Classical Recital from Naomi Edemariam, movies being screened, bands to dance to or listen to, quizzes to attend and also a game show to watch! We even have our passenger ‘Dancing at Sea’ competition tonight, but more about that tomorrow.
Cheerio

Hi Nigel
Reading about your visitor has me wondering what has happened to Nigel Easdale?
Just looked at your webcam and the Med looks quite rough today. Hope it calms down soon.
