Set in the southwestern corner of Iceland, Reykjavik is a modern city, heated almost exclusively by geothermal water from the hot springs of its surroundings. Outside the city there are plenty of scenic delights and adventures to discover.
Iceland has become known as the 'whale watch' capital of Northern Europe.
Hello Everyone,
We are now on our second day at sea sailing from Iceland to Ireland. This afternoon we are off the North Antrim Coast! Hello to all at the Giant's Causeway.....and my favourite wine bar in Portrush - Ramore. We are due in Dublin at 0630 hours tomorrow. My thanks to Katrina our Photography Manager for sharing some of her photos with me, allowing me to share these with you!
This morning many passengers enjoyed visiting the 'A' Factor in the Arcadia Atrium, where we showcase all departments of the ship. How the toilet system works always attracts a lot of attention!!!! I did the omelet challenge against the Food and Beverage Manager Carl Luxford - he won of course - I felt as though I was on Saturday Kitchen. However as we are due in Ireland tomorrow I played a few Irish Tunes on the Piano at the top of the Atrium, taking requests and lots of people singing along and plenty of opportunities for taking photographs to capture the moment.
Ireland here we come!
James

So sorry we wont be seeing you on our next cruise. Leaving on Friday to join Royal Princess at Athens for the Black Sea. (am I allowed to mention the P word on here?) I will be a bit different from Arcadia I think.

Glad to see you back online! Really missed your blog. Will be reading avidly to help pass the 17 month wait until our Southampton - Hong Kong trip in 2011!!!
Hi James
My Goodness, great to see you've risen to the dizzy heights - I was with you as an AP when you were a humble JAP, back in '83/'84 on the original Oriana. Hoping to have a cruise in 2011 or 2012, hope you'll be the Purser.
Take care.

Forgot to say. Do you remember when Danny (I think) one of the bakers made you a birthday cake which was the Irish flag with the red hand of Ulster in the middle!!!
Hey glad to see you back James. Justin did a very good job in your absence, but I do prefer your blogs.
Hope you are well and rested. DD is home for a well earned rest. Keep trying to get her to come on a cruise with me but strangely enough she doesn't want to!!!!!!
Off to look at the webcam!
