Arcadia along side at Leam Chabang with the iconic P&O CRUISES buff funnel - recognised the world over for British Excellence in world wide cruising.
Lots of cars awaiting export.
Bags on the move! Baggage and garbage off load.
The fantastic Terminal. So well organised.
Some photographs for you from the early morning blogger - not Jogger!
Getting to grips with the baggage handling.
Thumbs up - it is going to be a good day...............
Arcadia along side.

All private arrangements are in place - passengers can make their own private arrangements with us to meet their individual requirements. I had to ask the lady to hold one board down for a VI VIP..............!
Bob, Simon, Caroline and James - having fun on the dock and at the same time checking all out to see that we are ready for our passengers.
The fantastic Terminal. So well organised.I love it here, the Agents, Officials and local are so friendly and gracious. They smile and bow all the time and appear to be so happy. The Terminal is a DREAM to operate - and so clean and smart. It makes is all so easy and welcoming for our passengers. Beautiful morning here - hot and sunny and all set to dispatch our tours to Bangkok - there is an excitement on mornings like this that you only get in the big tour ports, like Italy, Egypt, The Holy Land etc. It is a shame that none of our ships visit the Holy Land at present. Hopefully we can return in the future to visit our good friends in Haifa and operate some of the most inspirational tours imaginable.

Best wishes to you all in the UK - I hope you are well and truly snowed in and wishing you were away on a lovely winter cruise holiday with us.
This is what I love about my job - everyday is different.

Indeed I do wish I was on board Arcadia with you and the other crew members. Bangkok is one of the places I really want to see.
The termnal looks very smart and trhe Thai people so friendly but polite.
On a cold, snowy, miserable morning, your blog has cheered me up no end. Thank you.
Gill
This is probably our last comment before we set out tomorrow for Singapore, to join you on Friday.
We've 2 nights and a bit of shopping to look forward to look forward to first.
James, I just can't say enough on how your wonderful blog has added to the build up of our cruise down to Sydney.
It's Alan's very first time to Oz, so he's very excited about it all.
We hope everyone who was due to join Arcadia in Bangkok, was there well beforehand, and so avoided all the snow in the UK.
See you all very soon now!
Our warmest regards
Peter & Alan.
Breakfast time again for me here in the UK. Looking at your blog is like a ritual now.
I bet your really looking forward to your cruise now Alan and Peter, after seeing what Arcadia has been up to on it's way to you!
Well the airports seem to be functioning this morning, but how much disruption it's caused to those flying out to join in Singapore from here in the UK, I'm not sure. I hope they are all now well on their way.
As I said in my post the other day, my daughter said Thailand is her favourite place. She too said the same as you. The people are so friendly and they can't do enough for you.
Yes James, at this minute in time I really wish I was on a world cruise away from this dreadful weather. I;m not a winter person at all!
Off now to look at your webcam (2nd ritual of the day)!

I do look forward to your blogs James, I am so envious, would love to be there away from this cold weather, keep them coming.
Cheers

There are some great 'Getty Images' of snowbound London today on the BBC News website.
I particularly liked The Houses of Parliament view from Westminster Bridge and another of Heathrow with the snow ploughs and the parked BA tailfins going nowhere.
Apparently BA cancelled 186 flights; no longhaul services before 5pm.
Laem Chabang. My first shore excursion after boarding Aurora in Hong Kong and spending several days at sea. I was a fixture at the rail, watching every detail. The patrol craft escorting us in, the huge commercial port so clean and tidy, the fantastic cruise terminal.
There was mist and haze that dawn, and I snapped a shot of my wife "balancing" the sun's globe on her finger.
We opted for a bus ride in to Pattaya Beach. The guide was fantastic, friendly and funny, full of information. And it was a delight to see the strange land. Perhaps the place really came alive after dark, but it was interesting enough in the daylight.
And so very grateful to get back to the ship, with clean water, familiar food, airconditioning...
Thanks for the blog entries, James. You're rekindling happy memories, making me want to go cruising again!
Keep up the good work James, all your fans are waiting patiently for each and every entry, for some it is bringing back happy memories of previous cruises for us, and for others just makes them want to go out and book for one of next years worldies....
Can't wait for the next installment from Singapore.
Cheers
Mary K.
As an ex-Ents Officer (Aurora) I find your blog fascinating and the lovely photos are really making me want my old job back (especially looking out at the snow here!)
Have fun :)
Hi James, No blog as of yet today. I hope your OK? Presumably your busy.
I missed my breakfast ritual ;-)
James,
Fantastic blog which I have been reading with great anticipation on a daily basis. It so makes me want to be doing another worldie!
Since this blog began I'm pretty sure I recognized you immediately, and speaking of Haifa, it was on board Oriana's 1998 world cruise that is exactly where you saved my ass in my cabin when the Israeli authorities decided to detain me and give my cabin and myself an entire strip search.
Brian Purnell insisted that you come down with me and those thugs to make sure all was as it should be.
Thank heavens for you I say, such a trooper and you watched every move they made on me. I was on their ten most wanted list so I was told, mistaken identity I say. Scarey stuff just the same and needles to say I have not been to Israel since.
I also met Ferolyn a PRS on that worldie and we are still together and have a lovely 9 yr old daughter named Ashley.
Ahh the memories, so thanks again James for bringing them all flooding back.
John & Ferolyn

see. Keep up the good 'work', James.
