From Left to Right. John and Winifred, Ian and Sue, Paul and Chris.Hello!
When we held the first of Arcadia's Inaugural grand Voyage Luncheons on the 18.01.2009 - check the blog for that date - I promised my table guests that I would put the picture on the blog. The pictures sold out really quickly in the ship's photo gallery and it then slipped my mind.
One evening I was in John and Winifred's Stateroom for a Cocktail Party and saw the photo framed in a P&O Cruises silver frame - no less!! It was so good I asked Katy our Photography Manager to look for a digital copy for me to post on the blog, so here it is. Chris tells me that her family are watching out for this to appear! Chris also tells me that the blog is great as she does not have to worry about sending postcards.
The other evening at dinner we were reminiscing about a couple of passengers on Canberra who used to bring 'Robertson Jam' teddy bears on the cruise!! This is when Louise said that she had brought her pet Seal with her!! You can imagine the eyebrows and the comments! However it transpires that Louise was in a very serious road traffic accident and walked away unhurt. Louise puts this down to Sammy the Seal looking after her! Now Sammy travels with Louse and Tony everywhere they go in the world - including this cruise! Louse has also purchased a Tiger on board, and two Soldier Boys in Mumbai to add to her collection!!!! I thought Louise was joking so here are the pictures to prove it - Sammy in different attires - Formal, on the Balcony, Tropical, and snoozing! Tony and Louise joined us at Southampton and will be flying home from Singapore in a few days time. Thanks to them for all the great fun and laughter we enjoyed at our dinner table. Best wishes to them all.....................!

Sammy ready for The Ball!
Sammy ready to party on deck!!
Sammy sunbathing on the Balcony.
Sammy enjoying the comfort and luxury of Arcadia's Egyptian Cotton bed linen!!
It's all going on on board ARCADIA!
James.
Laugh and the whole world laughs with you!

I'm loving Sammy the seal - A modern day St Christopher!
It's amazing how many people bring soft toys onboard! Lisa's bear (vince I think his name is) was there for her wedding on Oriana. All dressed up in his tux! Very smart he looked too.

Good Day MrCusick
My name is Prem , who had the privelege of being chosen by you from the Oriental restaurant(Aurora) to be the first butler of the company.(P&O -1995-2004)
That choice in a way has led to a change in my life and now I am responsible for a beautiful weekend countryhouse with an estate close to London for a prominent family.(I did a further learning to become a professional butler and an estate mananger).
Recently yr blog was brought to my attention by my Mrs, apart from the fact it brings back the memories of my time spent at the P&O, it has also inspired me as how energetic you are to find time to do such things, and keep the charm which you have always had in whatever you do.
I am grateful for the opportunity I have had, for the experience of working with you and the P&O.
with fondest regards
Prem
Oh James - I so wish I could be stuffing myself at the GV lunches!!!! However, OV beckons and I'll have to slum it in the Caribbean for a couple of months.... shame!! Good luck to everyone on what is obviously turning out to be a successful Grand Voyage.

Hi....this is for Sammy Seal from Little Lamb
Gosh, Sammy wish we had met up on the Grand Voyage, I was taken along by my owner to keep her company while on board as it was her first cruise!
Every night our cabin steward Walles tucked me up ready for my owner to come to bed and every morning he would wash and dress me and get me ready for the day ahead
I had a wonderful time and received a lot of love
Will keep a look out for you, Sammy, and we can compare notes
Cheers
Good Afternoon Mr Cusick
I have you to thank. Last year we had the pleasure of your company on the truly Mediterranean Cruise from 5th - 21st July, on arriving at the church service we heard the glorious sounds coming from the piano played by yourself, i said to you later that i would love to play and you said go and do it, so i had my first lesson last week, thank you
