Wishing Mr and Mrs Gary Freeman every happiness in their married life together. My thanks to Gary and Bernie for choosing Arcadia for their special day. They have given me permission to add these photos to my blog - I was so happy to be in attendance at their wedding.
Gary and Bernie here pictured with Captain Ian Walters who married the joyful couple. Why have a wedding on land when you can enjoy all the glamour of a P&O Cruises Ship and leave all the arrangements to us?
The picture below is the sun rise in the Bay of Biscay this morning - you can see how kind the bay was to us, so for those of you who have heard the horror stories there are many many good times.
Our good wishes to the Captain and Ship's Company of the QE2. We passed her last evening as she was steaming down at 30 knots toward Lisbon. The Duke of Edinburgh was on board at Southampton to say farewell to the QE2. I last met with The Duke of Edinburgh when he was on board or sister ship Oriana when HM The Queen named the ship in 1995.
So as the QE2 ends her Ocean going liner life with our sister Company Cunard she is just beginning her new life as a iconic luxury hotel in Dubai. Arcadia will be calling at Dubai on our inaugural Grand Voyage which departs Southampton on the 5th January 2009.
Another non stop day and we look forward to our home port of Southampton tomorrow.
Best wishes,
James.

My wife and I saw our fellow passengers -the (very) newlyweds - Mr & Mrs. Feeeman on the big day. I must admit its the first time we had been aware of weddings on board. What a great idea - romantic setting, great food, privacy, entertainment on tap etc etc. - and a perfect way to escape all those distant ( and not so distant) relations!! No doubt this will be a growing trend.
Best wishes to Mr. & Mrs Freeman.
MR & MRS G.S (now at home in the drizzle)
Looking forward to our wedding day onboard Arcadia on Christmas Day, especially after seeing the photos of Mr & Mrs Freeman!!
Good morning James,
My partner and I where lucky enough to be invited to Gary and Bernie's wedding onboard "Arcadia".
A very special day for them, and a honour for us to be in attendance,we are looking forward to getting the photos. Annette has been in touch with Bernie by e-mail since returning to the real world! The ceremony was beautifully carried out by Capt Walters of whom I am very envious of at times like these. We are sure the pictures will take pride of place in there home as they start their married life together.
We wish you and the ships company calm seas and safe cruising for the coming year.
Kind Regards and many thanks for a lovely cruise.
Capt. Cliff Roberts & Annette(D-104)
