Bermuda Deck (Deck 7) Aft cross-alleyway - before..........
Well, Mr Cusick issued a challenge to me to ensure that the transformation of the aft end of the ship goes smoothly!! The work has been swift and within twelve hours, even before James had left, we see........

"Just make sure it's cleaned up before I go....!"
The ship has been a hive of activity with instant transformations of areas familiar to all. We have arrived safely into the wet dock at Bremerhaven and our first meetings with the shipyard managers and P&O Cruises Technical Superintendents, who we work with to ensure a smooth refit, took place this morning. I am all 'coffeed out'! We go to great lengths to protect items and areas that are not being refurbished - which means I keep slipping off the plastic coverings of the restaurant chairs and having mini-electric shocks on the plastic deck protection! All very stimulating! The catering has now also transferred off the ship to the yard canteen and I'll post some photos of that on another blog soon.
I am around the ship a lot to monitor the progress of the various projects. Sticking with the cabin theme I'll leave you with a 'one off' view of the stripping out of B138, the St Tropez Suite. The poor cabin steward would have a bit of a problem trying to clean this now.......!
All this in twelve hours....I think it'll take a bit longer to rebuild somehow! Well, it's lunchtime now so it's off into the freezing cold to sample some fine British fare in the yard canteen.
Bye for now.
Ian
Current thought: If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea. Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Good Lord that's the suite I've booked for a cruise next year - it'd better look better than that when I get on board! Look forward to hearing more about the refit.
Looking forward to reading all about the refit as we are boarding Arcadia on 6th February in Singapore and not leaving til Hong Kong. This is our first cruise on this ship and we are getting very excited. Can't wait to meet Commodore Steve Burgoine and James C again. I have never seen a blog before but will be checking this one with great interest. Regards
Looking forward to seeing the refit when we board on 20th December for our Wedding on Christmas Day.
