The Highest of all the Canaries - Tenerife

Good Day All,

Another beautiful day here on our Tenerife cruise and we are in the prime berth so only a short walk into the main square. There is a complimentary bus for those who are not so fast on their feet!

We were held up by one bus on a later tour return at Gran Canaria but this did not affect our arrival time in Tenerife and we were all tied up with the gangways in for 0800 hours this morning. This is what our passengers like about going on one of our organised excursions, they have a reassurance that if they are caught in any traffic jams or the like then the ship will wait for them. There was lots of passengers hanging over the rails to welcome the 34 late comers back on board - people always love a bit of drama at the last minute.

My morning catch up with the Medical Centre - pictured here is our Senior Doctor Jan Slabber.
They call me the 'Consultant Doctor'!!

We have been busy today with our Emergency Drills - training which we do on a regular basis - hope we never need to put it into practice. The EP is IC Muster Control where we coordinate the evacuation of the ship for the passengers.

After drills I was on Crew rounds where I had a section of Crew Cabins to inspect for tidiness and cleanliness. They day is never dull and all around the parish you get to speak to so many difference staff and guests. Many a laugh we have. Everyone is in great form when the sun is shining and makes our job easier.

Meantime Sunil, Patrece, Sanyo and Pio are busy getting Arciada's longest bar set up for business - The Rising Sun which is the most popular Pub in town.

Have a great Day.
James.
